Prezedu Education Levels; THE WORLD: 30 December 2013

Content
Prezedu aims to familiarize readers with the educational background of the world’s Heads of State. The Prezedu Ranking System classifies Heads of State based on their Highest Degree Earned (HDE).  The HDE reflects only degree programs that have been completed, not degrees that have been attempted.  This study is limited to analysis of formal education obtained through public or private schools. Special training, military instruction or honorary degrees are not accounted for in this study. The scope of this research pertains only to official Heads of State of sovereign and Member Countries of the United Nations. Below is an analysis of the Educational Attainment of the Heads of State of all 185 countries of the World as of December 2013.

Education Levels
Level 1: Elementary/High School Education (1-13 years of education)
Level 2: Undergraduate Degree (13-17 years of education)   
Level 3: Graduate Degree (17-19 years of education)
Level 4:  Doctorate Degree (19-21+ years of education)

Analysis of Data
Findings
Among the 185 Heads of State of the World, it is found that 60, or 32%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 51, or 27% have a Level 2- Undergraduate level of education; 37, or 20%, have a Level 3-Graduate level of education; 38, or 21% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median
The Median education level for the world’s Heads of State is 15 Years of education, equivalent to Prezedu Education Level 2, an Undergraduate Degree.

Prezedu Education Levels; AFRICA: 30 December 2013

Findings
Among the 54 Heads of State from the Africa, it is found that 21, or 39%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 14, or 26% have a Level 2- Undergraduate level of education; 10, or 18%, have a Level 3-Graduate level of education; 9, or 17% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median
 The Median education level for Heads of State from the Africa is 13 Years of education, equivalent to Prezedu Education Level 1, an Elementary to High School Education.

Analysis of Data
Findings
Among the 46 Heads of State from Asia, it is found that 13, or 28%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 16, or 35% have a Level 2- Undergraduate level of education; 9, or 20%, have a Level 3-Graduate level of education; 8, or 17% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median

The Median education level for Heads of State from Asia is 14 Years of education, equivalent to Prezedu Education Level 2, an Undergraduate Degree.

Prezedu Education Levels; EUROPE: 20 December 2013

Below is an analysis of the Educational Attainment of the Heads of State of Europe as of December 2013.

Analysis of Data

Findings
Among the 50 European Heads of State,  it is found that 6, or 12%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 15, or 30% have a Level 2-Undergraduate level of education; 14, or 28%, have a Level 3- Graduate level of education; 15, or 30% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median

The Median education level for European Heads of State is 17 Years of education, equivalent to Prezedu Education Level 3, Graduate Degree.

Below is an analysis of the Educational Attainment of the Heads of State of North and South America as of December 2013.

Level 3: Graduate Degree (17-19 years of education)
Level 4:  Doctorate Degree (19-21+ years of education)


Analysis of Data
Findings
Among the 35 Heads of State from the Americas, it is found that 20, or 58%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 5, or 14% have a Level 2- Undergraduate level of education; 5, or 14%, have a Level 3-Graduate level of education; 5, or 14% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median

The Median education level for Heads of State from the Americas is 10 years of education, equivalent to Prezedu Education Level 1, an Elementary to High School education.

Prezedu Education Levels: The 2013 World’s Most Powerful People by Forbes

Content
Prezedu is a research organization that determines the Highest Degree Earned (HDE) by various people.  Today we evaluate The 2013 World’s Most Powerful People List by Forbes.  We ranked their education levels based on the criteria below.

Education Levels
Level 1: Elementary/High School Education (1-13 years of education)
Level 2: Undergraduate Degree (13-17 years of education)   
Level 3: Graduate Degree (17-19 years of education)
Level 4:  Doctorate Degree (19-21+ years of education)

Analysis of Data

Findings
Among the 74 people listed on The 2013 World’s Most Powerful People List by Forbes, it is found that 10, or 13%, have a Level 1-Elementary to High School level of education; 19, or 26% have a Level 2-Undergraduate level of education; 38, or 28%, have a Level 3- Graduate level of education; 17, or 23% have a Level 4- Doctorate level of education.

Median
The Median education level for all The 2013 World’s Most Powerful People by Forbes is 16 Years of education, equivalent to an Undergraduate Degree, Prezedu Education Level 2.
